Samara – My First few Weeks
Hello, my name is Samara!
I am 24 years old, I was born in Rio Grande do Sul in a city called Gramado. Gramado is a touristic and very well known City in the southern Brazil. Its architecture is similar to that of Europe as it was colonised by Germans and Italians.
I came from a traditional family, typical of the South of Brazil. I left the city where I was born to live in Caxias do Sul a place where I could study and work. It was also in this city that I met Jesus and began to love him and serve him. In Southern Brazil I was serving in the church as a teacher of children, helping with teenagers and doing the cleaning when something special happened. The Lord called me to study Theology in Belo Horizonte, which is in the Southeast of the country, so I immediately moved there.
I studied at the Charismatic Theological Seminary, a seminary that is part of Lagoinha Baptist Church and as soon as I finished, I just graduated as a theologian at a college. In Belo Horizonte I helped in numerous evangelistic projects, I also traveled through Brazil to hold about Mission to the Muslims and the implementation of new projects and churches.
Coming to Worksop I went through many challenges, but I can say with great joy that it was worth it, the churches and the people are passionate. St’s Lukes is an incredible church, its architecture enchanted me and the first service brought tears to my heart when we sang “We want Your name to be great and to thank you for our lives”. it was beautiful and the presence of God was clear in the wonderful worship. It was no different in Christ Church, a very warm church where I felt at home, people welcomed me with much care and care, I could not express in words how much my heart is grateful for all the love made available to us at that time. I need to thank especially Mel and Doreen who take care of me with much affection, they are incredible and have made me feel more than at home, like a true family, my gratitude to you is immense, thank you for the confidence.
My prayer is that in this time we can share the love in God through each worship, meetings at home and daily living and thus also share what God has done in each one of us.
I hope to be able to serve the churches with much dedication in what is necessary, we are here to help and to serve them, so count on us.
As soon as we learn more English we can have deeper conversations to get to know each other better, I have tried to make it happen as fast as possible.
God bless each one of us.
With love in Christ, Samara.
